We traveled a long way but the castle was closed! The ride was very pretty though. We were very dissappionted, however we found a path in the woods going along the Leiser river. We walked to it but a sign said it was private. We were pretty discouraged. Mom spotted another path going up a hill (Germany is full of walking, biking and hiking paths). So we hiked through a very beautiful and misty forest and up the steep hill to find...
another castle!
It was mostly in ruins but was really neat. Peanut found this little "secret" room in one of the run-down towers and we all piled in. Say cheese!

We climbed up the stairs in the biggest tower and arrived at the top when Peanut said, "Wow! This tower must be where Rapunzel was trapped!!"

We later found out that this ruin was once a powerful and majestic castle called Oberburg.

We walked back down the hill in a different direction and found this big grassy area. In the summertime this is where a jounsting tournament is held, we will definitly come back see it!

This is the Lieser river, Peanut and Bubbles' favorite! Everytime we hiked within sight of the river Bubbles would yell, "Wa Wa!" (that's Bubbles' word for water)
