Mount Vernon

While we were in Virginia with Aunt Missy, we went to visit George Washington's house. It was wonderful! Everybody enjoyed it, even Peanut! The only bad thhing was that they would not allow anyone to take pictures of the inside of the house :( Too bad because it was really beautiful and had some interesting stories such as; did you know that sometimes over a hundred people would stay at the house at one time? That's because the Washington's would never turn anybody out. Whoever, no matter how dirty or poor, called on them and wanted to stay were warmly accepted. How cool is that?

This is te view from the side of the house, no wonder Washington picked this spot to build a house!

Here is our first president's original coach, owning one as nice as this meant that he was extremely rich...but hey, everyone knows that!

Washington was moved from his original burial spot to this tomb with his wife Martha (whom we got to meet! She was really talkitive, lol)

This is the river to the side of his house, (I'll have to ask Aunt Missy the name of it cause I keep forgetting!) across the river is Maryland. Okay I figured it out, the river's name is the Potomac! ;)
