Hiking around Manderscheid Castle

In the background is the castle that we went to in Feburary. Remember, the one we accidentally came upon in the fog? Well, last weekend we decided to go see it again and hike around. We parked in the town called Manderscheid then made our way down the cliff. It was hot but there was lots of forests and shade along the path. The ruined castle we visited for the second time was called Oberkyll which means over the Kyll river!

Speaking of rivers, that was Kitty's favorite part. It was naptime so sometimes Kitty would get restless and the only way to calm her down was to tell her to listen and down the cliff she would here the rushing water. I don't know why she reacted to it so much!!
When we got there we climbed to the top of that tower, even Trixie went! (She is scared of a lot of things, but now we know that she's not scared of heights!) Gabby and Kitty liked it also, we should have left Dad so he could have taken pictures of us looking down!

Here's a little visitor we had while we were resting at the gazebo. Come to think of it, maybe we were his vistors.
